Description - Position Description:

Seeking an experienced and highly competent Senior Level COBOL Software Engineer/Developer to work on Enhancement, New Development, & Production Support Projects for a mission critical Legacy Application (Vehicle Invoicing and Drafting, VI&D). Vehicle Invoicing and Drafting is a Mainframe/COBOL Legacy application; approx. 50+ years old with Online and Batch Programs. The ideal candidate is independent, very organized, with a keen sense of detail and a natural ability to develop solutions. Candidate performs superbly under pressure and can balance a number of disparate projects.
The Software Engineer must deliver their project on time and with high quality, according to defined processes. Experience with Agile methodology is a must. Difficult situations and business partner conversations must be handled tactfully. Some experience in using advanced technologies (Java, SAP, etc) is desired. Both the Business and the Team must like you, trust you, and feel comfortable around you. VI&D is a mission critical application and core to Client, so some level of stress is expected. Strong ability to drive requirements gathering process with Business Partners .Superior Technical competency with great initiative .Strong can do attitude. with a natural ability to understand a complex Application and interconnections with upstream and downstream Applications
