Description - FULLY ON-SITE
High Voltage Low Voltage Lab Technician
Role Summary:
• Perform work on and around electric vehicle batteries, and subcomponents of VW vehicles.
o Operate Forklift with test samples. Ship and Receive EV Batteries and test samples.
o Setting up tests in test benches. Moving batteries around lab. Working directly with engineering team
o Performing teardowns on battery test samples
o Working with Climate chambers, load cyclers, forklift, power supplies, harnesses, tools.
Role Responsibilities: List essential functions in order of importance; include percentage of time spent performing each function (total should equal 100%)
Logistics of test samples – (25%)
• Shipping and receiving of test samples, including scheduling shipments
• Working with engineering team to crate/uncrate test samples with forklift, and prepare for tests or shipping events
Test Bench Setup – (25%)
• Performing set up of live battery samples, empty battery cases, and other test samples
• Working with all equipment in the Battery Engineering Lab during setups: Immersion tanks, climate chambers, load cyclers, forklifts, MAST tables, LV/HV test benches, etc.
Battery Tear downs and analysis - (30%)
• Work directly with engineering team to teardown electric vehicle battery packs.
• Inspect test samples for damage, technical issues, recording data and fastener torques.
• On Job HV certification through trainer and battery analysis lessons will be supplied.
Technical Data entry – (15%)
• Tear down data, test bench data, and battery production data: organizing and inputting into various reports and files.
Technical Support for Other Departments – (5%)
• Setup and install in Battery engineering lab test benches for various internal groups

Work Flexibility: Physical requirements, travel requirements, work schedule, etc.
• Monday – Friday with occasional overtime for evening and weekends
• Readiness for 20%-30% domestic and international travel
• Readiness for professional training in the US, Germany, Mexico (for extended training periods)
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Bending/Twisting working inside and underneath vehicles
